Documentation absent for libxc

#1 Post by mkhorton » Thu Jan 28, 2021 5:41 pm

The VASP wiki mentions libxc support in VASP6 but no details are provided for what the current status of this feature is.

From this forum thread and these third-party instructions it seems like the current status is that VASP can compile with libxc 4.x but not 5.x, and that support is currently restricted to GGAs only.

Would it be possible to include a note about this in the VASP wiki (if only to say it's still a work-in-progress), just to avoid folks wasting time trying to compile it? Or if this information is incorrect, to add the correct up-to-date information?

Very happy to hear that this is a planned feature though, excited to use it once it's ready!

Hi Matthew,

Really sorry to hear about this inconvenience, and thank you for bringing it to our attention!
There is now a little comment on the VASP Wiki, and we hope to support libxc fully in the near future. Perhaps it will ship with the next release, but no promises here.

Best regards,
Marie-Therese

Hi Matt,

With our new release (VASP 6.3), we now support an interface to Libxc 5.2.0 and the documentation is available on the VASP Wiki as usual.

Best regards,
Marie-Therese
