Posting guidelines

Did you

  • check the VASP Wiki,
  • search previous posts on the forum, and
  • try to understand the warnings and error messages that VASP prints?

Then, you are ready to post!

Template

Concise description of the calculation (and the observation/issue you encounter.)

Specific questions (about input, output, algorithm, etc.)

Attach a zip containing a minimal reproducible, i.e., all input files and the main output files.

Note

  • The moderators are members of the VASP team.
  • Your post appears after it has been approved. It takes up to 24h.
  • Ask specific questions. Asking, e.g., how to run a DFT calculation with VASP, is too general.
  • Avoid large files. (No WAVECAR, CHGCAR, ML_FF, vaspwave.h5, etc.)
  • Beyond the scope: Some questions about the capability and interpretation of results may be scientific questions that can only be answered by a research project.
  • We offer support on a courtesy basis only, not as a contractual service.
