Hi,
It appears to me that the VASP Guidebook is very essential to make
oneself familiar with the VASP code. I'm trying hard to learn how to use
VASP by reading the guidebook carefully. However, the guidebook has
so many omissions, confusing descriptions and many typos / errors,
that it is often so difficult (if not impossible) to understand.
My current hardcopy of the guidebook is printed quite a while ago, but
even the current on-line version has still exactly the same problems.
Are there plans to improve the guidebook any time soon?
Regards,
Rob.

VASP the GUIDE
I strongly recommend to study the lecture notes of the VASP workshop (to be downloaded from
http://cms.mpi.univie.ac.at/vasp-workshop)
to get started with VASP. Especially the handson.pdf files give a good first introduction on how to start calculations. The Handson.tgz files
contain the complete inputs to run the discussed excercises.
Moreover, the theory is given in hands-ons of the session talks
