Which MPI version does VASP 5.2.2 expect?

#1 Post by askhetan » Mon Nov 05, 2012 8:05 am

the cluster at my university uses OpenMPI 1.6 as default. I read on the net at some places that VASP 5.2.2 was compiled with OpenMPI 1.4. Do you think it is probably causing me performance losses? Is it possible to recompile the VASP with OpenMPI 1.6. or alternately is there someway i can call OpenMPI 1.4 to make my computations faster ?

In the end, one must accept realism. Saying otherwise would be a denial of incompleteness.
