Arrays indexing: Subscript #1 of the array VEC has value 1 which is greater than the upper bound...

#1 Post by juanier » Sat May 28, 2011 8:57 am

Dear all,

We are trying to compile VASP 5.2.2 parallel version on a CentOS 5.5 based cluster (6 nodes Intel Core i5), using

-Intel? Parallel Studio XE 2011 (Intel Fortran 64 & Intel C 64 Compilers XE, version 12.0; Intel Math Kernel Libraries)
-OpenMpi 1.4, gcc compiled

When running, we are getting alternatevely (depending on -np) the following error mesages:
---------------------------------------------------

1) (...) POSCAR, INCAR and KPOINTS ok, starting setup
FFT: planning ...( 1 ) forrtl: severe (408): fort: (2): Subscript #1 of the array VEC has value 1 which is greater than the upper bound of 0
Image PC Routine Line Source
libintlc.so.5 00002B5388A66F6A Unknown Unknown Unknown
libintlc.so.5 00002B5388A65AE5 Unknown (..etc)

or

2) (...) forrtl: severe (408): fort: (2): Subscript #1 of the array POTAE has value 322 which is greater than the upper bound of 321

Image PC Routine Line Source
libintlc.so.5 00002B3E943ABF6A Unknown Unknow
libintlc.so.5 00002B3E943AAAE5 Unknown
libifcoremt.so.5 00002B3E93B4BCF2 Unknown
(..etc)
----------------------------------------------------------

We also include an extract of our makefile, where we have added ifort flags -heap-arrays and -check bounds because of previous running crashes related with "glibc ** double free or corruption".

Almost-completely lost.
We would appreciate any advice you can give us,
Thanks,

Juan Russmann

Hi,

We're sorry that we didn’t answer your question. This does not live up to the quality of support that we aim to provide. The team has since expanded. If we can still help with your problem, please ask again in a new post, linking to this one, and we will answer as quickly as possible.

Best wishes,
