a little off-topic--about the cluster nodes assignment

Anybody happens to know if there's administration program that limits the max amount of nodes each usr can occupy? --sick of fighting for calculation time with groupmates

if there is a hard limit, you're probably not able to even submit jobs requesting for more nodes. ask your sys admin or the person who installed your queuing system.
concerning vasp: there is no significant gain of performance if you use more than 32 CPUs parallel.
